KIT is one of 6 partners of the Horizon Europe-funded project “A University Partnership for Acceleration of European Universities” (aUPaEU) which supports European university alliances through the deployment of customized Agoras, digital hubs for collaboration and resource sharing. KIT Library, specifically the Research Services department, is managing the project on behalf of KIT. In January 2026, the aUPaEU project team will bring together policy experts, faculty members, researchers, and administrative staff of university alliances for a workshop on the challenges of institutional transformation in higher education, with a focus on how Agora platforms can be a tool to support HEIs on this path. KIT staff members Dr Michael Zacherle, Dr Michael Anger, and Lauren Ciancio will attend.

The aUPaEU project team will host the workshop “Stepping into Agora: a discussion with co-creators, lead users and policy experts”, on 30 January 2026 at the EETAC Department (Auditorium, Room 001) of the UPC Baix Llobregat Campus in Castelldefels (Barcelona, Spain). The event will also be available online for remote participants. In addition to the discussions on institutional transformation, the workshop will allow participants to discover the Agora platform and learn about its functions and services.

The workshop is structured around two main sessions:

  • From concept to implementation: meet the Agora service co-creators and hear more about their experiences with the platform.
  • Policy Dialogue: learn more about the perspectives of international policymakers and alliance leaders regarding challenges and enablers of institutional transformation in Higher Education Institutions.
