Ausbau des Onlinekurs "Informationskompetenz: Methodisch planen, recherchieren, schreiben"

Project Duration: November 2016 – October 2018

The award-winning online course “Information Literacy: Methodical Planning, Research, and Writing” is the first fully online program to teach undergraduate and graduate students all the information literacy skills necessary to successfully complete a thesis at technical universities and colleges.  Due to the strong response from both within and outside the university, the KIT Library, in cooperation with the Writing Lab at the House of Competence (HoC), plans to expand the project with the following goals and content:

  1. Integration of course modules into discipline-specific courses,
  2. Opening the course offerings to other universities,
  3. Adapting the practical components for the awarding of ECTS credits,
  4. Expanding the target audience,
  5. Conducting accompanying research.

The expansion project thus makes a substantial contribution to establishing a cross-university standard for digital teaching and learning in the field of information literacy from both a library science and a (writing) pedagogy perspective.
