LISTEN. ADAPT. IMPACT. – Publishing in Dialogue with Researchers
“Science for Impact” is KIT’s guiding principle. Science makes an impact when research findings and data are published, disseminated, and made accessible. Scientific publishing plays a key role in this.
KIT Scientific Publishing (KSP) has set itself the goal of understanding the perspectives and expectations of the scientific community and incorporating them into the further development of its services. To this end, the KSP team interviewed eleven researchers and professors who have experience in editing and publishing scientific journals.
The insights gained from these discussions are being incorporated into specific enhancements to the publisher’s services. As a result, services in the publisher’s magazine division have been further developed: Clear workflows, targeted advice and support for editors, and a modular service model are designed to improve collaboration with publishing editorial teams. The model allows publishers to choose the level of support that best suits their specific needs.
At the same time, the focus shifted to quality assurance for book projects. As a result, the existing peer-review process for book proposals was expanded. Books that are not published as part of a series are evaluated by the publisher through a modified review process.
With this approach, KSP addresses the needs of researchers and publishers while adhering to established standards and keeping pace with current developments in scholarly publishing.
Listen. Adapt. Make an impact. This is how KIT Scientific Publishing continues to shape its services in dialogue with the scientific community.
