Good Scientific Practice and Ethical Principles at KIT
The Office for Good Research Practice and Ethical Principles at KIT (Office GWP) is the central support unit for the prevention of research misconduct and coordinates measures to communicate and implement the guidelines for good research practice at KIT. It also supports the KIT Ethics Committee in its work.
Together with colleagues from KIT Library, the Academy for Responsible Research, Teaching, and Innovation (ARRTI), and the Conflict Management Network at KIT, the Office GWP is committed to promoting research integrity and a respectful work environment at KIT.
The core tasks of the Office GWP are:
- Low-threshold, confidential counseling for all KIT members and affiliates on the topics of good research practice (GWP) and research ethics
- Organizational and substantive support in investigating alleged research misconduct by the GWP ombudspersons and the Commission for Good Research Practice
- Organizational and substantive support for the Ombudspeople for Ethical Principles and the KIT Ethics Committee
- Supporting the Executive Board in coordinating the implementation of regulations for good research practice and related training programs
- Development and implementation of preventive training on GWP for all members and affiliates of KIT
