Departmental Libraries on the Campus South
According to KIT’s procurement guidelines, literature must be acquired centrally through the KIT Library. The KIT Library therefore offers departmental libraries on Campus South an acquisition and delivery service for literature, as well as the option to list their holdings in the KIT catalog.
Here’s how it works
- To order printed books for your departmental library, do not order from a bookstore; instead, order from the KIT Library using this form. Information on ordering journals for departmental libraries can be found in the Handbook for Decentralized Libraries in the Library System of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
- When placing an order, you must confirm—by specifying the cost center or PSP element—that approval has been granted by your institute’s budget manager. The KIT Library will process the invoice on your behalf and charge the specified cost center or PSP element.
- Delivery is handled by the KIT Library directly to your institute’s library.
- Your institute will handle the payment.
- The literature will be cataloged in the KIT catalog under your institute’s library.
- As before, you are responsible for processing and shelving the volumes on site.
- Please email us your institute’s call number and, if applicable, inventory number for entry in the KIT catalog.
- You may only order print materials. E-books are centrally funded by the KIT Library and acquired through a campus-wide license. Please let us know which titles you would like to order.
