Skills4EOSC

Project Duration: September 2022 – August 2025

The European project Skills4EOSC (Skills for the European Open Science Commons: Creating a Training Ecosystem for Open and FAIR Science) will establish a pan-European network of centers of excellence to accelerate the training of European researchers and harmonize the training of new professionals in scientific data management.

Over the next three years, the project will work to make the Open Science Commons available and develop a qualified workforce for the EOSC by connecting existing centers of excellence for open science and scientific data management. The goal is to develop methods, activities, and training resources to unify the current training landscape into a collaborative and reliable ecosystem and to provide specialized, community-specific support to harness the potential of the EOSC for open and data-intensive research.

The project is structured around six key areas of activity:

  1. Minimum Viable Skillsets (MVS)
  2. Train the Trainer (ToT)
  3. FAIR-by-design methodology for learning materials
  4. Harmonized curricula and learning paths
  5. Lifelong learning through professional networks
  6. Skills4EOSC Center of Excellence and Support Network
