Project Duration: April 2018 – March 2021
The goal of this project is to implement the concept developed in the NatHosting project as a national hosting service, as well as to establish and evaluate routine operations.
The NatHosting project was carried out with funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) from February 1, 2014, to January 31, 2016. It aimed to develop a nationwide concept for ensuring the long-term availability of licensed electronic resources, focusing on the existing LOCKSS and Portico solutions. Additional components of the proposed concept include the establishment of a rights management system—closely integrated with the DFG-funded ERM initiative (LAS:eR)—as part of the overall technical architecture, and the creation of a hosting agency responsible for coordinating national hosting efforts.
