The AEUP conference took place under the title "Sustaining the Flow: Keeping the Pages Turning in Scholarly Publishing". On the afternoon of May 21, an innovative format, the so-called "Walkshop", offered participants the opportunity to network in informal discussions and exchange initial ideas - a successful prelude to the actual conference.

The conference program included two keynotes and five themed sessions focusing on community, funding, technology and culture. The presentations and discussions impressively demonstrated the innovative power of smaller, non-profit university presses and the central role they play in academic communication.

There was a particular focus on the need to promote the Diamond Open Access model more strongly and anchor it in the academic landscape. The question of how research results can be made more accessible was also discussed - be it through measures to implement the EU's European Accessibility Act (EAA) directive or through the promotion of open-license teaching materials to make educational resources more widely accessible.

Finally, the importance of exchange and cooperation between university publishers was emphasized. Various task groups were set up to promote joint discourse and strengthen cooperation - an expression of the joint commitment to making scientific publications sustainable and cost-efficient.

KIT Library and KSP would like to thank the colleagues of the AEUP Board and the Verlag der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften for the great organization. It was a successful conference with stimulating and inspiring discussions.
