Text editor SciFlow now generates accessible PDFs in the PDF/UA standard
For some time now, KIT Library has made the scientific text editor SciFlow available to KIT members free of charge. After entering the text and assigning the correct format templates, the XML-based text editor can be used to generate a PDF based on the KIT publishing house document templates for monographs (in 17 x 24 and DIN A5 formats).
It is now even possible to create an accessible PDF in the PDF/UA standard. Alternative texts for image and diagram descriptions can be stored directly in SciFlow. This is another important step towards making KIT research accessible to people with disabilities by enabling documents to be read and interpreted by various assistive technologies such as screen readers.
Another good argument for familiarizing yourself with SciFlow and using the advantages of the editor. The KIT publishing house KIT Scientific Publishing has prepared further information on the text editor under the following link: https://www.bibliothek.kit.edu/ksp-toolbox-dokumentvorlagen.php
