KIT Scientific Publishing (KSP) has been publishing quality-checked specialist literature from all KIT disciplines since 2004 and is the largest publishing house of a scientific organisation in the German-speaking area. The focus of the publishing content is on the social sciences and engineering.

Profile and services

  • As anOpen Access publisher, KIT Scientific Publishing makes its entire publishing production available electronically on the Internet free of charge, parallel to regular sales in bookshops worldwide.
  • Quality assurance is carried out in close cooperation with the KIT institutes.
  • Authors can publish their works in the following publication variants:  KIT Monographs or KIT Scientific Reports

    KIT Monographs

    • KIT monographs are high-quality specialist books published by the publishing house. They convey quality-checked research results to the scientific and interested public.
    • Many specialist books also appear in series published in cooperation with KIT institutes.
    • The books have an individual appearance. In addition to specialist books, KIT Monographs also publishes textbooks, dissertations, post-doctoral theses and conference proceedings.
    • KIT Monographs are available electronically via the internet as well as in printed form from bookshops worldwide.

     

    KIT Scientific Reports

    • KIT Scientific Reports continue the previous series of FZKA reports for the entire KIT.
    • Special scientific, up-to-date research results are published here in electronic form.
    • In addition to research reports, project reports and annual reports are also published, but not preprints.
    • KIT Scientific Reports may also contain individual publications from the publisher's series. In these cases, the volume numbering of the series is also included.
    • KIT Scientific Reports are available electronically via the internet as well as in printed form from bookshops worldwide.
  • The publisher protects your rights as an author in the age of digital publishing. All books are additionally licensed according to Creative Commons to promote the dissemination of your research results.

Membership of the Working Group of University Publishers

The working group is an association of institutional publishing services from the German-speaking area that promote open science. All members offer publishing services and have a proven affiliation with a research institution. The criteria for membership in the working group include, in particular, support for open access and quality assurance according to scientific standards.
