FaMI Day at the KIT Library South

Training day for trainees as media and information services specialists (FaMi)

On 21.01.2026, a FaMI day for trainees at academic libraries took place at the KIT Library South. The training was offered as part of bwWeiterbildung and was aimed specifically at media and information service specialists in training.

After a welcome and an introduction to the KIT library, the participants were given comprehensive insights into the library's premises, services and technical offerings during guided tours of the KIT Library South and the InformatiKOM and Media Center.

In the afternoon, the focus was on interactive formats: In two groups, the FaMI trainees playfully explored the history of the KIT library and the topic of Open Access - including the OApoly and Timeline game.

The event concluded with an exchange round with feedback, during which the participants took the opportunity to make contacts and network with other trainees.
