70 Years of KIT Library on Campus North – Anniversary year 2026 with a diverse program

In 2026, KIT Library at Campus North will celebrate its 70th anniversary and thus seven decades of supporting research on site and beyond. To mark the occasion, we are taking a look at the technical and structural changes of the last 70 years, presenting our current services and projects and looking ahead: today more than ever, libraries are places of knowledge, communication and innovation.

Under the motto "Preserve. Renew. Create", we invite you to a varied anniversary program at the library on Campus North from March to November 2026:

  • Concise knowledge: monthly after-lunch coffee talks on our services
  • Poster session on library services and selected projects
  • Discover 70 years of history: Exhibition with exciting objects from the archives
  • Panel discussions with experts on forward-looking topics
  • Podcasts on topics from the KIT archive
  • Sustainability & community: plant and book swaps
  • Art - short and sweet: art snacks during the lunch break on objects in the library
  • Escape Room: Research data management as an exciting experience: Crack the codes, save the data!

The virtual kick-off on March 10, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. marks the start and introduces the anniversary program for the first half of 2026. Registration is not required - just tune in.
