Strategieworkshop „KIT Open Science Hub“ bringt Open-Science-Akteure zusammen
On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the KIT Library North hosted the strategy workshop "KIT Open Science Hub" at the Campus North location. The workshop brought together people interested in Open Science from various KIT business units to discuss the current status quo on the topic of Open Science at KIT. The discussion was based on the results of the OpenScience@KIT survey conducted in spring 2026, which was presented at the beginning of the workshop.
The survey results show that some members of KIT are interested in the topic of Open Science and are involved with it in various ways.
At the same time, the survey makes it clear that Open Science offers and projects would benefit from more visibility and better networking.
Against this background, the idea of creating more space for the topic at KIT by means of an Open Science Hub was discussed during the workshop. The KIT Library's initiative aims to better bundle existing activities and to better develop the many potential synergies - by developing a web presence, a place for exchange and a community of practice.
The KIT Library would like to thank all participants for their constructive contributions and stimulating discussions.
