Delegation from RSIF/ICIPE visits KIT library
On November 12, 2025, two representatives of Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund (RSIF) visited the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Since 2020, KIT has been one of the international partner institutions (IPIs) offering research internships for RSIF doctoral students from Africa.
Caroline Adala Oremo (Capacity Building Officer) and Mary Ngure (Manager Information Resource Center) from the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) visited the KIT Library in the morning for a professional exchange with Director Arne Upmeier and the specialist departments. They were accompanied by Pascale Kohler from the International Affairs Department (INTL) at KIT.
The guests chose the KIT Library as their destination because it is one of the most innovative scientific libraries in Europe. The focus was particularly on topics such as digital services, open science, open access and research data management (RDM), user training and user satisfaction, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in library services.
Before the technical exchange, the program included a tour of the library on the South Campus and the InformatiKOM. After presenting the activities of the RSIF and the ICIPE, Mr. Upmeier and four colleagues presented the services offered by the KIT Library and answered specific questions from the two visitors.
The visit provided an opportunity for intensive exchange and once again underscored the importance of international networking and knowledge transfer in the modern scientific library world.
