dbkit (Database Toolkit)
dbkit is a web application framework developed by the KIT Library. It is designed to create sophisticated yet easily customizable web applications.
The software offers an integrated authentication system, supports workflows, provides both an API and an OAI interface, and enables the import and export of data.
dbkit already includes several applications, including:
- KITopen: The KITopen repository is the central platform for cataloging KIT’s scientific publications and for publishing full texts and research data. All KIT researchers with a valid KIT account have access.
- KIT publication fund: Here, KIT employees can submit a request for reimbursement of costs for open-access publications.
- LEA (Local Electronic Article Delivery System): LEA provides KIT employees and students with free scans of articles from print journals held by the KIT Library.
- Literature Request: Here, KIT Library users can submit a request for the acquisition of literature not currently available.
- Media Center: Here, KIT members can borrow equipment and request services from the Media Center.
- Workflow Management for KIT Scientific Publishing, the scientific publishing house of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)
- Master Data Administration
