The Research Services Department of the KIT Library supports sustainable research data management (RDM) with a wide range of services, consulting and training, from the submission of applications for scientific projects to the publication and archiving of research data. A working atmosphere that is open and appreciative with continuous training opportunities, especially for new topics and tools in the RDM environment, characterize the Research Services team.

We offer an autonomous field of activity in the European project Skills4EOSC (Skills for the European Open Science commons: creating a training ecosystem for Open and FAIR science). The aim of the project is to establish a pan-European network of Competence Centres to harmonize and accelerate the training of new professionals for scientific data management.

The project works to provide Open Science Commons available for EOSC (European Open Science Cloud) by connecting existing Competence Centres in the field of Open Science and scientific data management.

The knowledge and results gained in Skills4EOSC are incorporated at KIT into corresponding training courses offered by the RDM@KIT support team for various target groups. Exciting and challenging work in an intercultural context with access to national and international networks awaits you.

Your tasks include:

  • Conceptualization/Design and development of learning material for different target groups (data stewards, data professionals and doctoral students) within research data management using FAIR principles in all phases of the research data lifecycle
  • Development of a quality assurance and certification framework for learning materials
  • Participation in the conduction of train-the-trainer courses to impart specialist knowledge
  • Networking both within the project and its Competence Centres, as well as beyond, such as with the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI)
  • Transfer of the training content of the Skills4EOSC project to KIT training and further qualification courses offered by the RDM@KIT service team for KIT researchers and other KIT target groups (data stewards, PhD students, students)

Personal qualification

  • A university degree (Master's) in the natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, economics or engineering
  • Excellent teamworking skills and experience in building and managing networks
  • Very good written and spoken English skills
  • Good didactic skills
