General information

• Please ensure a minimum distance of 1.50 m from others as far as possible
• Notes on KIT-Bibliothek Süd:
  • During daytime operation (Monday - Friday 9 am - 7 pm) all have access to the library. During night operation (Monday - Friday 7 pm - 9 am) and on weekends, only usres with a valid library card are garanted access via the entrance on the west side.

Opening hours of KIT Library, Fachbibliothek HKA and DHBW Karlsruhe and other subjects libraries on Campus South

• Current opening hours of all library locations can be found here.
• During opening hours it is possible to collect and return books and to use study spaces.
• Note on KIT-Bibliothek Süd: KIT-Bibliothek Süd is open 24/7 again. Service hours are Monday - Friday (on workdays) from 9 am to 3 pm. New library cards can also be issued during this period.

Single study spaces with reservation in KIT-Bibliothek Süd

• The use of reservable single study spaces in KIT-Bibliothek Süd (old building) is possible during the following time slots: Monday – Sunday, 8 am – 12.45 pm, 1 pm – 5.45 pm, 6 pm – 10 pm and 10 pm – 7.45 am
• You can find the booking system for single study spaces here.

Single study spaces without reservation

• KIT-Bibliothek Süd (new building): Accessible 24/7
• KIT-Bibliothek Nord: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 12 pm and 1 pm – 3 pm
• Lernzentrum am Fasanenschlösschen (LAF): only for KIT members, Monday - Sunday 9 am - 10 pm.
• Fachbibliothek HKA (FBH):  Monday – Saturday 8 am – 10 pm
• Fachbibliothek DHBW Karlsruhe (FBD): Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4 pm
• Fachbibliothek Physik (FBP): Monday – Friday 9 am – 7 pm, Saturday 9 am – 12.30 pm
• Fachbibliothek Mathematik (FBM): Monday – Friday 9 am – 7 pm
• Current capacity of study spaces according to the Seatfinder

Group study spaces with reservation

• Currently only available at KIT-Bibliothek Süd,  daily everyday between 8 am - 102 pm
• You can find the booking system for group study spaces here.

Digital Services

• All digital services of KIT Library are available as usual.

Borrowing books

• At all locations, books and media are freely accessible in the reading rooms again and can be borrowed.  
• At KIT-Bibliothek Süd all lendable books and media can also be ordered in advance to the self-pick-up shelf within 1-2 working days.

Courses and consultation

• General information on the courses and consulting services offered by the KIT Library can be found here.
• Currently, events are offered partly in presence and partly online or hybrid. All dates can be found in the event calendar.

Exmatriculation

• KIT students can obtain discharge notes for exmatriculation applications Monday - Friday between 9 am - 3 pm at the information desk.
• Alternatively, fully completed and signed applications can be emailed to infodesk∂bibliothek.kit.edu.

KIT Scientific Publishing

• KIT Scientific Publishing is currently closed to the public.
• The publishing team can be reached on workdays by phone at +49 721 608-43104 or by e-mail at info∂ksp.kit.edu..

• In addition, the KIT Library provides regular information via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
